Privacy Policy

This policy explains how elixplorer, a file explorer for Android TV, handles information. For privacy questions, contact the developer using the email address on the elixplorer Google Play listing.
Information used on your device
When you grant storage access, elixplorer reads file and folder names, locations, types, sizes, modified dates, and storage volume names and capacity. It uses this information on your TV to display and sort files, search names in the current folder, and perform actions you request.
Your last-opened folder and preferences for grid or list view, sorting, and hidden files are saved locally in the app’s private data. Search terms are used to filter the current folder and are not saved as search history.
The app does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, payment details, browsing history, or files. It does not transmit your information to the developer.
Files you choose to open or install
If you select Open or Open with, elixplorer gives Android and the app you choose temporary, read-only access to that file. If you choose to install an APK, elixplorer passes it to Android’s package installer. Those apps or Android services may handle the file under their own privacy policies. elixplorer does not control their practices.
Permissions and your choices
Depending on your Android version, elixplorer requests storage access so it can browse files. Installing APK files may also require you to allow installation from elixplorer in Android Settings. You can deny or revoke permissions in Settings, but the related file-browsing or installation features may then be unavailable.
elixplorer renames or deletes files only when you request those actions. Deletion may be permanent. Clear elixplorer’s app data or uninstall it to remove saved preferences; this does not remove your files.
Security and children’s privacy
Browsing information and preferences are kept in the app’s private data on your device and are not sent to the developer. When you open a file, access is granted only for the file you selected and the requested action. Only open files with apps you trust.
elixplorer does not ask for personal information or knowingly collect children’s personal information.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s information practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change.
